Renovation | Philadelphia Suburbs
Along Philadelphia’s Main Line sits this Tudor style, stone house with a graduated slate roof and mature gardens. Renovations to the home included a revised floor plan to provide an open concept within the original footprint. Inspired by the existing architectural aesthetic, Period Architecture designed a new hand-scraped walnut kitchen with quarter sawn white oak at the stone and wet bar. The farm sink overlooks the family auto-court and connects the newly renovated mudroom including storage cubbies, dog wash and a new family back staircase. The back stair was once a steep, narrow “servants” stair dividing rooms. Relocating the stair allowed for optimum use of space for bedrooms with walk-in closets, updated bathrooms, and new laundry. The renovated open floor plan connects the home with natural light and efficient circulation to accommodate large entertaining and daily family activity.
