Resplandor Renovation

Our clients purchased this 22 year old home in the summer of 2016. The bones of the home were in great shape but it needed an updated look.

We updated an outdated and not code compliant railing with this attractive variance to wrought iron. The railing is constructed of treated lumber and coated rebar which requires virtually no maintenance and allows maximum lake views.

We also enlarged a cramped existing kitchen by removing a partition wall, removing the soffits and allowing the vaulted ceiling to continue into the kitchen. The counters were updated with a warm tone granite and both the bar and the kitchen received undermount Blanco silgranite sinks. The backsplash in both the kitchen and bar is travertine but we added a herringbone pattern to the bar as a design feature.

The flooring throughout the main portion of the home was changed to wire scraped hickory adding a touch of warmth and sophistication. The hickory worked beautifully with birch raised panel cabinetry. The guest bath, master bath and laundry where updated with 12"x24" stone-like porcelain tiles.

The clients opted to keep most of the brass fixtures throughout the home, so we introduced some new metals with stainless in the kitchen and champagne bronze to modernize the look in the master and guest bathrooms. We replaced a small modular shower with a stunning custom tile shower with a bench, shampoo niche that also works as a toe rest and a rain head. We blended the tans and greys of the bathroom using this porcelain tile and river rock floor.
