Rittenhouse Square Master Suite
A series of confining and claustrophobic small rooms were opened to create a light-filled and luxurious master bedroom, bath, and dressing closet suite in a Rittenhouse Square high-rise. The suite’s expansive south-facing windows were accentuated by removing soffits that obscured the view. Bright white cabinetry, gray-stained oak flooring, and Carrera marble reflect natural light while furniture and accents introduce vibrant color - deep purple in the drapes and dressing closet island, orange and aqua on the custom fabric-clad bed. Custom cabinetry includes bedroom shelving, a wall of glass-fronted wardrobes to showcase shoes and handbags, a dresser with integrated laundry hampers, and a pull-out accessories panel for displaying necklaces and scarves. Limestone counters and a custom marble sink complement recycled marble tile - a new product that blends Carrera marble with resin for a striated and sustainable result. To compensate for the building requirement that all plumbing be above the floor slab, the tub and shower sit on a raised plinth. The design puts the shower floor flush with its entry, avoiding the need to step over a threshold.
Project Cost: $100,001 - $150,000
