Rye Beach House Restoration
Renovation of the historic Austin House, a Shingle Style/Queen Anne home in coastal New Hampshire. Built in 1895 for a private family, this home served as a military base during World War II, and a Franciscan Friary for 50 years following the war. The restoration was a 7 month project that included a new kitchen, 6 bath rooms, and all living spaces. The exterior renovation included the addition of an architecturally compatible 3 car carriage house with guest rooms on the second floor. A sun room addition at the rear was designed to mimic the original front turret, with a second floor deck overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, a block away.
