For their southwest Austin home, the client wanted a sophisticated space that was practical for their family, which includes two children and a dog. The inspiration for the palette was the muted grays, sages and creams found in the fantastic antique rug. Custom furniture and cabinetry brings richness to the neutral colors. The whitewashed quarter-sawn oak cabinets hide the stereo and a practical fold-down bar.

The design for the dining room was based around the circular chandelier. The oil rubbed bronze metal complimented the fixtures and lighting in the rest of the house, and the gold gave a pop of sparkle to the room. A custom finished wall adds depth and texture and changes colors as the sun hits at different angles. A large round table, perfect for dinner parties, anchors the room.
