Savage Screened Porch

Spring 2015. An upscale screened porch for a longtime customer. A good representation of the typical finishes and details in the projects we do.

Existing deck before being removed. All the existing exterior Masonite siding was replaced with HardiePlank Cedarmill cementous siding

Crew installing tongue and groove ceiling boards, which we had sanded, stained and sealed prior to installation to eliminate future unsightly unstained tongues from shining when the boards eventually shrink or move.

A bench and decking made of ipe, a Brazillian hardwood. the deck is attached with hidden screws below, and the bench is totally out of ipe over a treated wood structure. All screws are either hidden or plugged. This photo is after the Penofin oil has been applied to the ipe.

Ipe 5/4 x 6 decking applied over the brick step foundation. Notice the ipe kickplate riser and threshold below the door. Again, all visible fasteners were countersunk with the holes plugged using ipe plugs.
