Scandinavian Inspiration

So many homes have boring backs. By adding six feet to this home and opening up the kitchen area (and relocating a powder room) we transformed the way this family lived together and connected to their yard and new garden.

Here's a welcoming entry. This replaced a clunky breezeway entrance and makes coming home a cheerful experience.

Scandinavian Inspiration

The entry to this Scandi inspired kitchen is nicely buffered by a window and open display niche. There hooks and a bench and a tile floor and the foyer connects to the garage entry. Just inside the door is a desk area and a "landing zone" cabinet.

What fun a daybed in the kitchen! We created this six foot addition to reconnect the house to the back yard. It gave us space for a larger kitchen, and eating area, lots of light, and create coherent character for the back of the house.

The bright kitchen steps down to a dining room with fireplace and Scandi finishing touches. The raised counter creates a nice buffer between the social and working areas of the kitchen.

Inspired by the use of bright colors in Swedish homes this addition, the new pergola, and the river rock walk thru this effusive garden transformed an otherwise boring rear facade and inaccessible yard into the life of the home.
