Sever Severain Senior

An almost completely preserved bungalow from 1970, was renovated with great enthusiasm to return it back to it's original glory. Being a modern open family house, it grew in a large forest area that mirrored the original design of Sever Severan senior to the last detail. The influences of Richard Neutra and Mies van der Rohe can be seen through Severan's personal connections with the architects. Apart from the master bathroom, the kitchen is the only room that has been newly design, making it essential that it fits in with the natural elements of the home while ushering in a new era of innovation and design. The Leicht Kitchen corresponds with the spacious feel of the home and was planning accordingly. In the center of the kitchen is a long island with a cooking station that eventually reaches the dining table, connected through a lower bench. The island cabinets are white high gloss lacquered. The rest of the cabinet fronts display a white matte lacquered horizontal relief character. Under the windows there are 60 cm wide floor units from a continuous band that spans the entire length of the room. Ceiling high tall units on an opposite wall house the kitchen appliances. The large windows in the room and pleasant halogen lighting compliment the surfaces of the cabinet fronts, displaying them at their full effect. The alu-edge underneath the counters has the effect of a grip-rail, emphasizing the horizontal lines and keeping with a handle-less look. The floor units work with a touch opening system and the pullouts are electrically operated by SensoMatic, enhancing the streamline handle-less vision of the kitchen.
