Siding Upgrade
Tired of repainting their siding every few years, the homeowners were looking for a maintenance free solution for the exterior of their home. After finding LP SmartSide with its 50 year warranty and Diamond Kote finish with a no-fade 30 year warranty, they had found the perfect combination to meet their needs. As a preferred installer and full remodeling company, they trusted us to provide a quality installation and be equipped to handle any complications that might arise. In the end, we were able to meet all the homeowners’ needs and provide an attractive, maintenance-free exterior for the lifetime of the home.
Homeowner’s Needs
The homeowners were looking for a unique siding solution. They were happy with the general appearance and color of their existing siding, but felt they were wasting money having to repaint it every few years to maintain an attractive appearance.
Their highest priority was a low maintenance siding solution that would allow them to invest on the front end, rather than pouring energy and money into their siding over time.
They were introduced to LP SmartSide with Diamond kote pre-finish at one of our vendor’s booths at a local home show and were impressed with the strength of the product and durability of the finish. With a 50 year warranty on the siding and 30 year no-fade warranty on the finish, they had found the perfect products to meet their needs. They called us because we are a preferred installer of the LP SmartSide line and were recommended by our vendor.
The Project
The homeowners made several visits to our showroom to view samples and peruse the different color options available. We offered them catalogue views and physical samples of each color within the shades they found most suitable to their home. Though they were happy with the existing color, they decided to alter it slightly to give the house an updated look. They provided samples of shingles and guttering to compare to the siding colors and ensure an attractive final appearance. The homeowners were originally interested in replacing all windows as well, but decided to postpone due to budget constraints. We provided custom matched paint for the entry doors, garage trim and other elements on the home that were not being replaced.
Most of the project went according to plan, but, as is occasionally the case with large construction projects, we did have one setback. Due to a miscommunication with the supplier, the custom fascia we ordered was delivered in the wrong color. We stayed in close communication with the client both during the work and the delay to ensure their satisfaction. They were understanding and accommodating throughout the process. In the end, the project was delivered within the budget, though the completion was delayed due to the material setback. The homeowners received a maintenance free exterior and couldn’t be happier.

They had an extra roof shingle and piece of guttering so we could lay them next to the sample pieces of Diamond Kote to see what colors looked good together. With our guidance, they ultimately decided on Clay for all the body panels and Pelican for the front trim plus all the soffit and fascia
We offered a proposal to replace their windows, but they decided to hold off due to budget concerns.
Their main goal was to have as low of maintenance as possible while maintaing the look and a similar paint color
Project management -
Overall the project ran very smooth. We did have one little hiccup when there was a mix-up between us and our vendor and the wrong color fascia material was ordered. This did cause a delay since the material is special order. We stayed in communication with the client both during the work and during the delay to ensure their satisfaction. Although not entirely thrilled, they were understanding and accommodating with the delay
Although we were mostly forecast for favorable weather, the installers were always sure to make sure everything was properly sealed before they left every evening.
We had the Diamond Kote colors matched at Sherwin Williams and had Superpaint mixed up to paint the existing doors, garage trim and corbels that were not being replaced
