Sister's Cabin is a backcountry ski hut / lodge operated by Summit Huts Association, & booked through the 10th Mountain Huts Association. It was built at a very remote site on Bald Mountain near Breckenridge that was inaccessible by normal cars & trucks. Workers accessed the site by foot, mountain bike or ATV. Most of the materials were delivered to the construction site by helicopter. The project incorporated some pre-fabricated building elements that allowed the building to be delivered & assembled as a "kit-of-parts" in a relatively short amount of time (6 months). Sister's has an insulated concrete form (ICF) foundation, structural Douglas-Fir timber-frame, & structural insulated panel (SIP) exteriors walls, roof & floors.
