This design project included creating an inviting and usable front yard space and a new entry to this Craftsman home, as well as a new backyard structure and patio. A corrugated panel and redwood fence wraps around the perimeter of the front stained concrete patio, and a redwood arbor accentuates the existing steps from the street. Plantings in front of the fence soften its appearance and add depth to the landscape. The facade re-design includes new wooden steps and handrails, and an overhang supported by new columns framing the French door entrance, all with Craftsman style details. The front fence style is repeated in the back to fully enclose the backyard, and a double arbor built in the same style as the redwood arbor in front spans the length of the back of the house, partially covering the stained concrete patio.
