Encore Construction’s client fell in love with a 1900 cottage tucked in the dunes on the ocean in Harwich Port, MA. The cottage was part of a historic campground and maintained the rustic feel of a cabin. Indoor plumbing had been added but the cottage was uninsulated and shabby. It would have been cost prohibitive to winterize and update the cottage, so our client opted to tear it down and rebuild on the same footprint. The family hired architect Steve Cook of Cotuit Bay Design LLC to create a small cottage that lived large. Our in-house designer Susan Gerlach kept the client happy with all of her creative design work and coordination. Project completion: April 2013
