Small Island Addition
This homeowner wanted a simple way to add storage, seating, and counter space to her kitchen. What better way than with a floating island? We made it table height so the chairs from the adjacent kitchen table will work here too, and it's a great lower work surface for chopping or rolling out dough when baking.
We chose a beaded door in painted oak for a casual, not-too-perfect look, and topped it with a wood-grain laminate top that helps it to blend with the other varying wood tones in the kitchen.
It all works well together and the homeowner loves the new addition!
