Snow was designed by Louise Campbell and launched in 2009. Campbell has always been very preoccupied with daylight in her work with lighting. Her intention with Campbell 275, Collage and Snow was therefore to imitate the most genuine light expression we can experience – daylight. As Campbell expresses it: The most obvious contrast between daylight and artificial light is that nature only has one light source, and you never look directly into it. Our perception of light is based on countless natural layers which filter and reflect the light. These observations have been integrated into Snow. With the Campbell and Collage, Louise Campbell has worked with soft, warm light, drawing associations with spring and summer. With Snow, she has attempted to capture the essence of the Scandinavian winter: pure white snow, casting a clear precise light with the help of screen-printed snowflakes and a counterweight shaped similar to a snowball.
