A steep hill leading down to the backyard and pool area presented engineering and drainage challenges at this now picturesque property. Much of the work was done steadily by hand as machines weren’t able to access the site.

First, obstacles were overcome using two retaining walls made of round natural fieldstone, the removal of 2,000 cubic yards of earth, the addition of a custom drainage system, and an array of trees, plants and shrubberies. Natural fencing was utilized to add additional privacy from the neighbors.

The thinner, custom-sized pool and spa were then installed along with all the pool decking and a grilling station with bar seating. A pergola with LED lighting covers the outdoor dining area, next to a remote-controlled gas fire pit surrounded by intimate seating.

In front, a brand new driveway was constructed using antique Belgian block curbing. Walkways were added, as were the front stoop and a custom mailbox built into the stonework.
