Sea side homes are an invitation to use art work to bring the outdoors inside. As my client said, I want the art work to show me what is outside on a perfect July day, even when it's overcast and we can't see past the fog. The monochrome palette of the project, using Benjamin Moore's Fogmist for the wall color and almost exclusively off white and gray/beige furnishings, made the colors of nature in the artwork pop. Art work mediums were varied, using oil on canvas, wood cut prints, digital photos printed on Duponi silk, and the antique techniques of paper cut botanicals reimagined in a modern style. The overall effects is modern, streamlined, but ever so inviting.
