This project is unique because of the site: updating a traditional home by rebuilding the detached garage with living quarters and elevator giving easier access to the residence and by redoing the outdated kitchen with one uniquely suited to the home and client. The garage was originally built on unsuitable fill material. We drove 4" steel pipe into the ground 30 feet and tied it to the foundation to make it structurally sound. The kitchen cabinets have a warm layered paint finish on the surrounding cabinets with a Oregon grown walnut on the island and bar cabinet. Photos by David Farris.
