Older deck, probably a bad DIY project. We removed all railing and decking to discover inadequate framing and structure. Five footing were added, as well as re-framing the entire structure to 12" on center joist system. It is now like walking on a Living Room floor. The materials were furniture grade treated pine, with no knots. The entire project has no visible fasteners. After completing the deck, our Client wanted to update the outdoor cooking area to include a ten foot island with a grille, outdoor refrigerator, and stainless steel drawer unit. The island is in ledger stone, with granite top and back splash. Two convenient electrical outlets were incorporated into the back splash to aid with kitchen accessories.
