Our energy department consulted on the design of a system large enough to offset all electrical use on this 52 acre property. After finding that the existing historic structures were not appropriate for rooftop solar, discussions led to a new barn with workshop, art gallery, passive solar greenhouse, a major rooftop solar array, and bi-modal energy storage. As the project took shape the solar system became secondary to the creation of a wonderful space and a center for the creative talents of the owner and her caretaker.
