reDesigned

Storied Casual

In this kitchen remodel, we wanted to make the most of the available space, and open up the sightlines to the living room. By reimagining the existing layout, we removed the peninsula, relocated the fridge, and added a large center island. This allowed us to stretch to kitchen to utilize previously wasted space. This center island became the workhorse of the kitchen - perfect for prepping and for serving during large gatherings. Opening up the dividing wall allows for clear sightlines to the living room, as well as an opportunity for a second island with seating. While the wall was non-load-bearing, we still had to keep part of it in place due to plumbing from the second floor. But, we pushed it back a little bit, opened the middle, and created a soffit overhead to turn it into a cool architectural feature.
