stylish & comfortable Basements
By combining modern materials and elements with transitional furnishings and rustic fixtures, this once uninspired room transformed into a Perfect family gathering basement room that is both stylish & comfortable. Basements do not have to be devoted to sports pennants and beer paraphilia. This cozy basement is part kitchenette/bar, part full guest bedroom & bathroom, and full of entertaining and lounging. With both a small refrigerator/freezer & mini wine fridge, a tile backsplash, Hidden USB receptacle ports, and simple white shaker cabinets, this space is ideal for homeowners who love to entertain and host parties for adults, pre-teens, or children events.
Other features like a gas fireplace and floating shelves create a lounge and a TV/media area that feels informal but extravagant. The focal point is a new gas fireplace flanked from floor to ceiling with large modern tiles and hand mill wood plank adds a rustic & cozy touch to the space. A simple sectional with an abundance of pillows in the room's various colors, a matching ottoman and a beautiful plush rug create an inviting space for lounging and watching TV.
Color plays a big part in this space with Glidden Old Monterey Grey 30YY 33/047 as the primary surrounding color and Glidden Marshmallow White 30YY 83/012 for the door, trim and casing color which allows the ‘pop’ of Glidden Orange Slice 83YR 44/540 to blend. The mosaic tile backsplash allows the Orange Slice to reflective off the mirror pieces. Even the Jewel Minera Cambria adds an additional ‘bling-pop’ of fun. To create the illusion of a large long window, we hung light silk floor-to-ceiling drapes in contemporary pattern over the basement window.
The Owners have come to recognize the importance of creating a bathroom for guests that is warm, relaxing, safe, and accessible; while maintaining a cohesive style. We designed a multifunctional floor plan in order to accommodate the family's many needs, including this modern luxury hotel/resort spa like Guest bathroom. The bathroom features dual door entries to accommodate for both party & out of town guests. The Schluter KERDI LINE is a low profile linear floor drain specifically designed to allow for a Curbless shower. The KERDI LINE linear drain system installed adjacent to shower wall, this allowed it not to interrupt the space’s design, but rather flow with it.
