Objectives:

• Update with a modern style.
• Improve function and layout conducive to entertaining.
• Replace outdated appliances with energy efficient models.


Design Challenges:

• Existing kitchen space was long and narrow.
• Felt dark and was improperly lit.
• Homeowner wanted to keep all existing walls and locations of major appliances.
• Needed to create more storage without adding space.

Design Solutions:

• Incorporated sleek materials, such as eco-friendly dark Lyptus cabinetry, 2” thick white quartz countertops, a red glass backsplash, and polished nickel hardware and lighting.
• Improved flow by removing wall between kitchen and dining.
• Added 10’ x 2.5’ island with a prep sink.
• Relocated cooking area and added wall ovens.
• Added recessed lighting in ceiling and task and display lighting throughout, including the use of dimmable LED fixtures.
• Increased the kitchen storage with a pantry, more efficient layout and cabinet accessories.
