The home is located in the New Hope Golden Valley area of Minneapolis. The home owner knew it had the potential to be opened up and create less of a compartmentalized 1950's home. Luckily the existing center bearing wall could be easily and cost effectively re-framed to support the roof structure. The end result is an open dining/kitchen layout with only interior cabinetry separating the two spaces. A bonus of the re-framing work netted a borrowed lite opening at the top of the wall that separates the dining room from the living room.
