Basement renovation: Create an legal basement suite. Though this basement is on the main floor level, it was made into a suite for the clients as their son would take over the upstairs living space and they would stay in the renovated suite. Created a new entry where only a window existed. Removed a wall from the kitchen to the living room for an open concept and installed a beam as it was load bearing. This couple wanted the spaces designed for aging in place and were very happy with the result as sometimes designing for accessibility can look institutional however, this new suite looks just like any other home.
