A coastal raised cottage located on a barrier island in Sullivan's Island, Charleston County, South Carolina.

The way the property bows out into the marsh allowed the house to be designed with panoramic views of the marsh, river and inter coastal waterway; with views of the Sullivan's Island Bridge and Ravenel Bridge leading back to Charleston in the distance.

When you have a property with views like this, the most important thing is to not block them visually in anyway by color, pattern, etc. The home was designed around the view wanting the large, locally made, mahogany doors to be "moving paintings". As the water flows by, the marsh changes color, storms come in and out, boats go by...the home reads that it has these amazing "paintings" that just happen to move.

The home needed to be comfortable and peaceful taking into account the owner's love of art, the outdoors, family, and, cooking. As well as, a comfortable spot where a favorite labrador could sit on the sofa. Sophisticated, but real.
