Sunny Kitchen Remodel

A bright, farmhouse-styled kitchen remodel with blue accenting island, bench, and office work space. The room blends nicely with a small breakfast area.

Instead of an end panel, this island has a very usefull recipe bookshelf built into it.

As another accent cabinet to this kitchen, this bench seat was also finished in blue. Drawers underneath allow storage for cold-weather clothing accessories, children's shoes, etc. A nice touch to be able to sit-down and undress after coming in from the elements.

This cozy computer desk adjoins the kitchen area. To delineate itself from the main kitchen, the cabinets were painted blue to match the island. A large casement lets in lots of natural light while working from home or checking the household finances.

Here you can see the full kitchen space. The black & blue island is a nice accent to break up the natural brown hues of the flooring, cabinets, and granite counter top. High set pendant lights add function and beauty without being obstructive when working on the island.

Custom built maple cabinetry and hood surround. Handmade tile inlay adds a focal point and interest to the backslash. Wide crown moulding above the gas cook top creates a mantel for displaying. Main counter top is granite, while the foreground counter top is soapstone.

A soapstone island counter top lends a softer feel to the room and very functional with it's prep sink. In the background, an octagonal breakfast nook is given ample light with 5 exterior walls of casement windows.
