The Builder's Workshop

John designed and built this freestanding pole-barn construction workshop and storage space economically, quickly, and conscientiously. Taking inspiration from the Stone Creek Barns project, the workshop evolved into a modern interpretation of that project’s roof pitch, gutters, color palette, windows, glass doors, and yellow pine walls. It is an ideal space not only for woodworking, but for storage of building equipment and tools. As part of an effort to work with nature to sustain the surrounding gardens, it has a water collection system that collects rainwater through downspouts connected to an underground storage tank, which can then be used to water the native gardens around it.
