The Spa at Mohonk
Built in 2004 the 30,000 square foot Spa at Mohonk Mountain house was planned as part of the ongoing Core Area Master Plan. Designed by Andrew J. Allison while working for The Saratoga Associates, the facility provided indoor swimming pool, locker rooms, fitness center, 16 treatment rooms, and an outdoor mineral pool and was the first addition to the Mountain House since 1902. Heating and cooling, provided by a 50 well geothermal loop and other energy saving measures have kept the operational costs extremely low and the payback on the systems upgrades will be realized within the first 10 years of operation.
