We completely transformed this mid-2000s home from its original finishes to a modern transitional look. In this project, we removed the existing fireplace and surrounding wall, and replaced it with a new modern horizontal style fireplace centered in the space, added back-lit cubbies, and a bamboo tile surround from floor to ceiling. In the dining room, we added a "screen wall" between this and the front living room. To pull the entire design together, we replace the lighting with modern fixtures, added rustic flooring, upgraded the baseboards, and completely repainted the entire house. The owners are ECSTATIC with the finished product!
