It’s not every day that you get the chance to remodel your childhood home. Our team transformed this home into one this young couple could call their own.

Even with a vaulted ceiling and skylights, the old kitchen was dark and felt cramped. We removed the doors to the sunroom and closed the pass-through, which had been the original window before the addition. Placing a new, larger window further down on an outside wall allowed more daylight to come indirectly. We relocated the doorway to the basement to create a better space for the ovens and refrigerator. A new layout with a peninsula rather than a small island opened up the space, and we took advantage of the higher ceiling with taller upper cabinetry.
