Transitional - Wellesley Residence

This 5,000 SF addition to a 3,000 SF home presented the challenge of an addition which is larger than the original. The hip roof of the existing house made it difficult to just add on, so the new construction was composed of three additional hip-roofed pavilions. Together they form a composition which is still dominated by the original house. The fronts of the house and garage which face the driveway are clad in golden limestone which further unites the composition. Each part of the interior of the house is designed for the multiple uses of the large family, and each is related to the outdoors.
