Tree View House

a beautiful front tree, building in the flood plain, and the family's desire for personal interaction drove this project. the second floor had to be set back from the front to accommodate huge branches. with the flood plain making the house tall, horizontal lines took prominence to take away the given verticalness. the floor plan flows to encourage interaction of family members and guests.

simple clean lines, window seat to take advantage of the tree view. open foyer allows sharing of space for dining expansion. even the pattern of the front door emphasizes the horizontal.

this shows the breakfast nook area open to the kitchen. the simple lines of the house have a wood accent carried throughout the home. the direction of the island was a big deal, so the snackers dont have their backs to the family room which encourages interaction.

the loft has a double desk for homework and open so you can keep an eye on what kids are studying. there is a view out to front tree for daydreaming and get the imagination going. wood shelves for reference library.

the game room is almost like a nice treehouse with windows looking into trees on two sides.
