An instant classic - The Hovey House
When a good friend of ours at MCM Rescue came to us with an insane restoration project we couldn't say no. The home had been abandoned and was destined for demolition with a roof that was caving in and front cantilever that was cracking the atrium glass.
Over the course of two years, we helped take the Hovey House from a neglected shell to a mid-century home of our dreams. A complete down to the studs renovation, we worked hard to keep the original intention of the architecture.
This mid-mod restoration features materials that have been poured, honed, refinished, and designed with love and craftsmanship. From the original, restored parquet floors (more parquet, please), to the custom doors designed by Princicpal Designer, Lauren Bald, and the poured terrazzo sunken tub and shower - the details are intended to feel like they are all part of the original home (we even reused the original kitchen hardware). As soon as you walk in you are sent back to the 1950s in the best way possible.
