Twin Houses
Two contemporary homes on a newly subdivided lot in the City of North Vancouver. The clients desired a clean and simple building that made a bold architectural statement.
An open plan and a transparent stair create a sense of spaciousness that otherwise could be hindered within the limitations of a narrow lot. Natural light is drawn down from the second floor level in a number of creative ways including through a light well at the entrance, through a large recessed skylight in the dining area and down the surface of an exposed concrete wall at the stair volume.
