This couples top priority was to have a kitchen that was more functional for the both of them to be able to prep and cook together and to accommodate their active social and family life of having twins and an older child. First was to lay out a new kitchen floor plan that began by gutting the entire existing kitchen and starting over.
We removed the soffit to give height and additional cabinet storage. Opened up doorway entrance from hallway to kitchen. Built out an eating bar for additional prep, serving area and seating. Added recessed lighting, Resurfaced heavily textured ceiling. Added bead board to ceiling in dining nook to coordinate with front of eating bar. New dining nook light fixture. All new cabinets, full extension deep drawers, pantry with pull out shelves. Cabinet dividers for cookie sheet and platter storage. New wall oven, wall microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher. Induction cook top. Stainless steel range hood with halogen lighting. LED under cabinet lighting. New Farm Style kitchen sink, Oiled bronze faucet & soap dispenser. Granite counter tops with beveled subway tile. Removed french door and installed sliding patio door. Refinished and stained existing oak flooring and added new oak flooring in front room, formal dining room and family room.
