This project is about a housing model that restores the county of Greenhills, Ohio by attracting people through a village-like community. Similar to a village environment, the people who live there can become closer to one another through multiple forms of engagement. An open central space creates room for multiple programs & activities, such as exercise spaces, play areas for kids, gardens, room for picnics/eating. Compared to a standard suburban layout where all the houses are aligned linearly & everyone only has their own personal space, here these units are laid out for each one to be facing the central exterior area. They’re configured with 3 or 4 units sharing their own space thats a little more private than the overall space that everyone shares, to encourage being close to one another, and also each unit has it’s own more private patio space.
