This historic 1908 Webster Bungalow had been a victim of several remodeling projects that challenged its inherent and original character. The homeowner engaged AOME to rectify these shortcomings, create new and remodeled modernized spaces for a young growing family, and enhance the fine bones of the original structure on the estate grounds. The gallery images show some of the many changes that achieved all these goals in phases spanning over 2 decades.
The estate was first built in 1908 for the president of the new “Ma Bell” Seattle division—in the craftsman bungalow style that was very popular in the Seattle area at the time. The craftsman style, based on fundamental principles of design and craft that honors the materials and focuses on simple beauty, comfort, and pragmatism, has stood the test of time and remains one of the more popular design styles for family homes.
