The project consisted of removing an existing 1960's garage and replacing it with a modern garage and flexible studio space. The new building form 'frames' the rear garden. The saw tooth roof reduces overshadowing to the neighbours rear yard. The form sits on a exposed timber portal frame and the use of timber creates a soft, friendly and warm interface to the landscape. Insulated panel roofing, and polycarbonate sheeting was used to reduced construction timeframes, and minimise applied finishes resulting in a long lasting, low maintenance addition.
