This is a small remodel of a mid century flat-roofed home in Walnut Creek. Our design challenge for this kitchen-only remodel was addressing the view of the rising hill behind the home and introducing more light and volume for the interior spaces. To this end we raised the roofline at the new kitchen and developed a clerestory design that enlivens and animates the entire interior of the remodeled home.
