Karly Kristina Design helped their client’s fall back in love with their existing Coquitlam home through the unique designs for this major home renovation. The client had requested their existing home to be transformed into a more contemporary design and to fulfill their entertaining needs. With the home’s existing features accenting lots of character and charm, we made sure to include a contemporary feel in a way where the style still complimented the existing style of the home. We added character and charm through our designs by including ceiling & floor details, accents within the millwork designs, feature walls and unique lighting layouts. The second guests enter the space, they are drawn in with the use of a chevron tiled entry mat and a large custom mirror and sconces which defines the space as a welcoming entrance. This creates an instant statement that is one of many to be seen throughout the home. Each room has its own unique features to make every space just as special as you continue walking through. From the kitchen being enriched with a quartz hood fan enclosure, accented with timeless sconces to the unforgettable accent feature walls giving texture and dimension to the Master Ensuite & Living Room. Designing a space for a family who loves to entertain, lighting was extremely important to help generate various atmospheres for different occasions. We also made a point of making the space feel larger by the use of mirrors in various locations throughout the home, including a nana wall to help increase the size of the Dining Room and a large barn door for the wide opening into the Master Ensuite. This original Coquitlam home has now been transformed into a beautiful new sanctuary for our client’s to entertain and enjoy for years to come.
