The perfect balance of modern urban design with elements of nature, we designed this downtown loft to be both exciting and tranquil. Translucent blue acrylic panels separate the living/sleeping areas and create a soothing sculptural focal point beautifully illuminated by natural sunlight. White lacquered furnishings with soft edges and organic forms compliment the exposed concrete walls and robust architecture. Decorative lighting fixtures made of recycled corrugated cardboard echo the city's sparkle when illuminated at night.

Both modern and organic, we designed the custom room divider to be a focal point of the space. Made of translucent blue acrylic, the honeycomb panels create a soothing separation of the living/sleeping areas and are beautifully illuminated by natural sunlight.

The lightweight nature of the panels allowed us to hang them from hinges in lieu of typical sliding door tracks. This accomplished unobstructed openness to the loft's 12 foot high ceiling when the panels are open.

Lines of sight are physically directed through the tubular, cellular structure of honeycomb, achieving design goals of visibility and privacy, transparency, color and texture.

We used an arc lamp to echo the lines of the exposed electrical conduit found throughout the space.

When closed, the divider panels separate the space with a bold pop of color.

Nesting tables in organic shapes and sizes bring variety and add function. We chose a wall hung media cabinet with drop down door made of speaker fabric to add softness and keep the electronics hidden from view.

For city gazing, we used an occasional chair architectural in form. Powder coated steel frame and light tan leather are complimented by a Ficus Lyrata tree which adds a touch of nature.

We kept the entry simple to creat greater impact as guests enter the open loft. A Moooi lighting fixture creates art with the shadows it casts upon the stark white walls.
