This project for the new construction of a detached single-family home in Washington DC, comprises an attached 2nd story ADU; a sensitive approach to the neighborhood while maximizing the use of the tight urban lot and maintaining areas for gardening, dog runs, and gathering; universal design for the first floor; a high-performance envelope, and passive and active sustainable strategies including a 9kW solar PV system.
