Wimberley Home

Beating the heat comes naturally with this beautiful Hacienda style home. Nestled into the trees with deep porches on the front and back to create shade is a big feature. The high ceilings in the main living portion of the home allow for heat rise while the small traditional hacienda style windows above allow light to enter the room with hardly any heat gain. The cool tile floors assist with heat dissipation throughout the home. All in all a dream home for the Texas Hill Country.

This rustic wood inlay floor of European white oak and antique carved mantel with iron brackets are key elements in this area. Adding the tiled lighted arches, dark wood trim, and large ceiling beams create a feel of authenticity in this hacienda.

Reverse ogee arch leading into the kitchen area mirrors the same style found across the main area at the fireplace and at the cook top area. The reverse ogee is often found in Spanish style architecture and therefore is seen in several areas throughout this project.

In the kitchen we used light hickory cabinets with dark trim. In keeping with the colorful tiles we added colorful ceiling treatments in the kitchen and breakfast area with large dark wood beams for contrast.

We designed the breakfast room with large windows on two sides for a full view of the pool with it’s arched water features. Once again, a colorful focus is achieved with a bright ceiling and arch blending the saltillo colors into the overall room.
