Wine Cellar

This is a beautiful wine cellar, wet bar, and game room in one in the basement of this Spartanburg home.

This basement with its walls surrounded by earth provides the best possible location for a wine cellar and while the Owner stated up front that they were looking for the best of everything, were gracious enough to provide a blank canvas from which to layout, design and build the space.

Jeff Goshorn was the principal designer on the project guiding the design of the space. Kessick Wine Cellars of Greenville, SC supplied the beautifully finished mahogany racks with integrated LED accent lighting, and Golden Strip Glass did the glass work. Waldrop Heating and Air Conditioning did a fantastic job reconfiguring all of the existing duct work, and installing a self contained Cellar-Pro dedicated and thermostatically controlled refrigeration system.

RGB color cove lighting between the top of the crown moulding and ceiling adds just that little touch of elegance to an already amazing space.

The stone on the walls is real stone quarried locally, and to maintain as narrow a profile as possible it has been cut down to approximately 2" thick and adhered to the sub-wall like tile. Hand tooling of the mortar joint makes for a finished product that is impossible to tell its not a solid stone wall upon completion.

The fantastic assembly of vintage wines and spirits from all over the world - as well as some beautifully hand crafted swords make this an amazing space that gives this Owner the ability to truly relax and drift away from the problems of the world.

The Owner is a very prominent physician and wishes not to be named.
