The original shellac finish on the ash woodwork was cleaned, touched up, and restored. The new pine sashes were stained and finished to match the ash.

Featured in Old House Journal. The finish on the oak trim is two-toned, duplicating the usual oak and walnut configuration for the period. The old growth fir floors were color matched the the original floors found in the rest of the house.

This family room has birch cabinets, finished in a warm cherry color with a shadow gaze, for depth. The walnut counter tops are finished as an accent. The floors are restored heartwood pine, finished to compliment the woodwork and tie the room together.
