I'm also wondering about the depth? Looks like possibly narrower than most cubbies - possibly less than 24 inches?

The dimensions of one the area where the coats are hung is 1'8" deep, 4'8" tall, and 2'5" wide. The dimensions of the box storage above is 1'8" deep, 1' tall, and 1'2" wide.

Very usable but upon would be cabinets for paper towels and stuff; maybe we do the low island like they have here with drawers, for keys, etc. unless hard to keep clean?
