What type and style of light would work in a dining room off of this kitchen to go with the schoolhouse light? - There would be a 7 foot farm table off of the kitchen. I would like to model my new kitchen after this kitchen but need to make sure the dining room goes with it too. What color might the wall be in the dining room and walls that are not tiled in the kitchen?

In regard to your question about what color, you can use absolutely any color you like. The room shown is completely absent of color. So you are good to go with whatever color suits your fancy.

Here is a dining room light that would work well with the current lighting.

that is called "inset" and many companies offer it. It is not necessarily custom, just a style of cabinet.

Can you please confirm the color of this tile? I have spent hours and hours looking for just the right subway tile for our kitchen backsplash, and this is it! Please confirm if this is in fact Michael S Smith in Ghost Gloss. Thanks a million! This whole kitchen is absolutely beautiful.

Unfortunately I did not originally post the photo but if I were to guess, it appears to be smaller than the standard 3"x6" subway tiles, so possibly 2"x4" tiles? The colour appears to be tender grey bright. Here's a photo of 3"x6" tender grey bright tiles.

That's 1/8" grout lines but they look bigger once the grout is installed. The tile's glaze runs off the edges a bit, so that might make it look larger as well. Antique White from Custom Building products is the color.

The tile actually has a bit of blue and a bit of gray. It's very difficult to see that subtle color difference in a photo. The cabinets are a creamy white, actually.

They're custom cabinets, but similar to what is often an Ivory with a warm glaze on top from other manufacturers.

What Houzz contributors are saying:

Becky Harris added this to Modern Icons: The Marais A Chair
The Marais A is a good choice for a kitchen desk area. In this kitchen, it coordinates with matching counter stools, like the ones you'll see in the next picture.
Becky Harris added this to Modernizing Cottage Style
Here's another kitchen with vintage-modern touches, but applied with a lighter hand than in the previous photo. The light-colored tiles, cabinets and counters keep this kitchen fresh and streamlined. Details like the schoolhouse lights, bin pulls and other cabinet hardware, and mid-century cafe chair add cottage personality. Also, a modern chef needs spot for finding recipes online!
KitchenLab Interiors added this to 9 Ways to Design a Kitchen Desk With Style
6. Have the desk moonlight as a baking center. If you don't want to sacrifice a whole section of your kitchen for a desk that you might use a few times a week, let it do double-duty as a baking center, bar or serving station. All you have to do is drop the counter down 6" from the standard counter height of 36" to 30" and voila, you have the perfect height for both baking and writing.
Shawn Gauthier added this to Get Your House Back-to-School Ready
If your child feels trapped away in his room studying all night, invite him into the kitchen by adding a workstation there. This keeps him part of the activity while you prepare dinner, and you can be sure he gets all his homework done.
Laura Heller added this to Go Ahead: Embrace Your Home Technology
There’s perhaps no better place in the home for a computer than the kitchen. It’s where we spend the most time and of course, the heart of any home. From accessing shared schedules, video chatting with family and friends while cooking, downloading recipes, news and weather, doing homework, or monitoring a child’s online activity, some form of computing device will serve a family well.
Becky Harris added this to 24 Great White Kitchens
Vintage modern: This kitchen is crisp yet detailed. The schoolhouse light fixtures, French cafe chair and stools, bin pull hardware and wood details on the cabinets contribute to the style.
KitchenLab Interiors added this to Design Dilemma: My Kitchen Needs Help!
No. 5 and 6. Change out that light fixture for something more vintage and architecturally interesting. And add a cute vintage chair to that naked looking desk area in your kitchen. Accessories like lighting and chairs can add so much style. Don't underestimate the power of a single well-chosen accessory.
Vanessa Brunner added this to Readers' Choice: The Top 20 Kitchens of 2011
7. While we saw fewer of these this year, all-white kitchens are still on many wish lists. We love the clean look of the off-white subway tile in this kitchen, which makes the bright white cabinetry and trim stand out.
Charmean Neithart Interiors added this to Love to Bake? Try These 13 Ideas for a Better Baker's Kitchen
7. Tech corner. Plan for a small space where you can wire in a TV, desktop or laptop computer or just display an iPad. There are thousands of recipes and how-to videos online. Include a tech corner next to your countertop and bake right alongside your favorite demonstration video or cooking show. Why Your Kitchen Wants Its Own iPad
Aviva Goldfarb added this to 5 Mistakes We Make That Drive Kids Out of the Kitchen
5. Being a neat freak. Sometimes we focus so much on cleanliness that the joy of creativity is lost. If you grump when your kids make a mess and follow them around with a sponge, you may need to take a step back and let them get a little messy. Do this instead: Let them make a mess — then ask them to help clean up when they’re finished. Or make a rule that whoever cooks gets the night off cleaning. With small children, I sometimes found it most effective to keep a step stool in the kitchen and confine their mess making to the kitchen sink, where they could create their own spice blends and potions.
