The flooring is heart pine. It was salvaged from a warehouse in Alabama.

In this kitchen we used a thin narrow piece of Corian as a backsplash. I believe we carefully caulked the edge at the wood.

Using wood everywhere is hard as it can be too much, but your project is warm, clean and bright. This is one of the best casually elegant kitchens I've seen.
Thank you for the note. That kitchen is now several years old and while the wood has developed a slight patina it is still a cheerful room.
