For anyone whose still interested in this topic, you can purchase prefabricated butcher block counter top pieces at local supply houses but your best bet is to find a local carpenter to build you a custom one. These hand pieced butcher block tops can be made of any hardwood, in any size (both length and width as well as thickness) and with any pieced design within the top. These types of hand made butcher blocks will last several lifetimes if properly taken care of and they only require a bit of oiling occasionally. Better than all of that, these butcher block tops are truly statement pieces that are functional.

Aloha~ This unit is a 48" Sub-Zero. A wide-angle lens was used to get the entire shot, so it can make things look wider.
