So thrilled with this designer -- emailed him, heard back WITHIN an hour (at 8:30 at night mind you)... good job, they ARE a medium cherry. He said the stain was called burnt sugar.

The oven/cooktop combo allows for a more integrated look. But yes, the trade off is that the oven may be slightly lower.

Some cooks like a gas cooktop, but electric ovens are considered better than gas ovens. That another reason to go this route.

This is a nice kitchen. The cabinet color is pretty, simple knobs. The countertop looks kind of like soapstone or corian. Abundant countertop space, in addition to the island for work area.
